To teaching and to fellowship

Through new birth you have become a child of God and are now a member of the body of Jesus, that is, of His church. Thus there are not many churches, but only one church. All who have been born again belong to this church; all others do not. Though they may be members of some denominations or other, they are not members of the body of Christ. Only he who has been born again is recorded in the book of life,

"Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15

There are only two classes of people: those who have been born again and those who are not. And all those who have been born again are members of this global-encircling assembly of the children of God. They are called-out ones, called out of this present evil course of time. They gather to the name of the Lord Jesus alone and separated from the world. In their lives the Word of God alone is their guide, and in their meetings He alone has the authority. They love all the children of God from their hearts, but they deeply deplore and judge worldly activities and the spirit of division among believers.

Is there anything more noble than to be born of God, than to have one's citizenship in heaven? For your spiritual development you need to fellowship with others who are born again. The early Christians

"... devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42

It would be well if you too would gather with other believers according to the principles laid down by God in His holy Word. But if you do not find such, then make this matter a special subject for prayer. Make it your constant prayer that you will be preserved from being turned away from the truth through doubts and false teachings of any kind.

“Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I do not deserve eternal life. But, I believe You died and rose from the grave to make me a new creation and to prepare me to dwell in your presence forever. Jesus, come into my life, take control of my life, forgive my sins and save me. I am now placing my trust in You alone for my salvation and I accept your free gift of eternal life.”

Food for the new you

Growth is important. Little children give us joy, but if they do not grow they cause us concern, for then perhaps they are seriously ill. For this reason the one who has been born again should also grow steadily and have more and more joy in reading the Word of God, so that he or she can say with the Psalmist:

"I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil." Psalms 119:162

"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." Psalms 119:105

St. John 14:23 Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

But how shall we know His Word if we do not read it? Therefore

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16

Finally, worldly periodicals and literature, movies and amusements arm the new man and have no place in following Jesus. Worldly things are also only a hindrance to the life of faith.

Lack of parent-daughter relationship and communication

Parents should have good relationship with their children so that the children will be free to discuss their issues of concern with them. When a high degree of parent-daughter communication exists, topics discussed often include school work, plans for the future, sex, growing up,, pregnancy and tactful information more likely to prevent pregnancy.

When communication on sexual issues between the parents and the adolescent is open, it creates a healthy environment for the development of the adolescent. When parents spend time with their children (female and male) more especially face to face communication, not only the digital one (in this era of advanced technology and phones), it significantly lessens the incidences of depression, anxiety and other mental illness. Being physically present with loved ones creates a strong emotional support to sustain family members through the demands and grinds of life. Adolescent that spend good time with family, tend to do better in school. They learn communication skills and the importance of education. When needed, assisting with assignments or new concepts reinforces the fact that their success is important to parents and older siblings. Parents can ask questions that can lead their young ones to talk and discuss with them. Through these discussions, parental-daughter bonds and closeness are formed. However, an opposite of this allowance of parental-daughter communication will definitely produce a lapse which can push the adolescent to seek communication outside the home. Largely amongst her peers who may be in need of attention too. Hence, the outcome will be adverse and intrusion into their sex life can happen and ultimately lead to unwanted pregnancy.

Experience the power through prayer

To pray is to speak to God, upon your knees in your room, while standing, or in any position at home or work place. You can do it everywhere and at anytime. If God is your Father, why should you not be able to tell Him everything that affects you? All your cares, all that troubles you, you should take to the Lord in prayer.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually,

1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

St. Luke 18:1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

St. Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

This is particularly important in a time like today, a time so rich in temptations. Therefore pray, pray regularly and in childlike confidence. Take time to pray and you will experience the power of God in your life.

Either Jesus or the World

God in His great holiness and truth is showing you your sinful condition, why is it that you must perish. But He is also a God of love and shows you the Saviour: Jesus. And no where else is salvation to be found.

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

The Lord Jesus says of Himself: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

Peace, joy and happiness are to be found in Him alone for time and for all eternity. Life is in Him alone, abundant life. He says,

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10

Should you thus come to the Lord Jesus in honest repentance for your sins and in childlike faith in His work of reconciliation, what will happen then? Will He receive you? Yes, He will.

"All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away." John 6:37

Through this faith you will be justified and will become a child of God. Faith is taking God at His Word. Is also being obedient. Take God at His Word today.

What could fit together better than a heart that is conscious of being lost, seeking forgiveness and peace and a Saviour who wants to give both? So be serious. Come to Him today

"Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?" Romans 2:4

Please do not despise His offer. Come to the Lord Jesus now!

No one shall say, I didn't know! No one shall ask, why the judgement? May everyone make up his mind: Either Jesus or the World.
