Can I apply for admission at Biblical University as a mature applicant without a secondary school qualification?

Mature student status may be granted to applicants aged 23 years and above without a secondary school qualification or its equivalent who are able to read and write in English. It is intended to allow applicants who do not hold a secondary school qualification the opportunity for admission into first degree programmes, and to motivate them to serve others so that Christ’s teachings can be more tangibly carried out. ''Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.'' Matthew 20:28

My 50th birthday party scheduled to hold on the 5th January 2024 at the Dominion Hall, 78, MKO Abiola Way, beside Henry-Tee Motors, Ring Road, Ibadan Is hereby cancelled

Dearest in Christ,

I am writing to let you know that, in light of everything going on, my birthday is cancelled. It just doesn’t feel right to be celebrating at a time when things are tough and there are so many more pressing matters at hand.

Obviously, there's going to be a family thanksgiving prayer and little celebration.

Sincerely, I have never been someone who is really into birthday parties, and this is my first experience of planning and organizing a huge birthday party with a cool venue to celebrate God's faithfulness for being alive and fabulous.

It’s hard to make the responsible decision sometimes and I've prioritized the right thing for this tough moment. Everyday is a great day to celebrate God's faithfulness for being alive and fabulous, it doesn’t just have to happen only on birthdays.

At the moment, cancelling my 50th birthday is just the right thing to do.

I challenge you to take stock of your life during this difficult time and be grateful for everything. As a result, being grateful helps to connect you to something larger than yourself.

The biggest loss can turn to greatest gift. It’s all a matter of attitude. Sometimes loss is the key that leads you to gain.

I do hope you all understand, and that you are bouncing in the Lord, even in difficult times.

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

About the scholarship

The Prof. Emmanuel Kolawole Scholarship was established in 2023 to provide talented and ministry-focused students from around the globe access to University-level christian education, and to help train students at Biblical University or ACHETS Missionary University who desire to pursue ministry degrees. Scholarship recipients will receive full enrollment fees and awards each academic year to ensure they thrive in their studies, graduate, and earn their Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree!

Criteria

Applicants need to have applied to Biblical University or ACHETS Missionary University by submitting application forms with the required documents and a non refundable application fee, and be issued an admission letter.

Your scholarship application will not be “Reviewed” until all required documents have been received. You are fully responsible for ensuring that all required documents are received by the due date. Late applications will not be considered

Start Date: 5th January

End Date: 29th January

The Prof. Emmanuel Kolawole Scholarship has the right to approve or disapprove.

If you're planning to apply for a scholarship, you will need to submit an application for scholarship, an essay along with a resume, and college transcript.

The application process

1. Complete and submit the scholarship application

Prof. Emmanuel Kolawole Scholarship awards scholarships to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and also have financial need. Application must be written in person

2. Provide your government issued ID and previous academic qualifications.

3. Submit an offer of admission letter from Biblical University or ACHETS Missionary University.

4. Recommendation letters are also required from a pastor or ministry leader of each applicant.

5. Write and submit an essay along with a resume

6. Attempt an interview

7. Recipients are selected based on a variety of factors, including financial need.

Write a 7 to 10 page essay where you describe

* your faith journey

* your sense of calling from God concerning further biblical study and/or ministry

* the strengths and gifts you would bring to the church through further biblical study and/or ministry

* how your gifts for ministry have been affirmed by others

* the strengths and gifts you would bring as a spiritual leader to Biblical University or ACHETS Missionary University

In the start of the new millennium and the 21st century, which began on 1 January 2001, many of the Bible colleges and theological institutions established in Nigeria did not offer free tuition, and did not have online studies, but there was just one online then. In 2008, Biblical University and College of Ministry & Seminary in Nigeria was founded by Prof. Emmanuel Kolawole, which he started for His glory and commenced class on Saturday 5th January of the same year in a small church building located at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State with 5 students face-to-face, but now has its vast ministry purposefully fitted out to satisfy the varying requirements of providing excellent theological education. BU started as the first tuition-free Bible and theological institution in Nigeria & Africa as a whole and the first three year Bible college bachelor degree with the use of electronic devices and Internet technologies to deliver a variety of solutions to enable learning and improve performance. To teaching and to fellowship

Through new birth you have become a child of God and are now a member of the body of Jesus, that is, of His church. Thus there are not many churches, but only one church. All who have been born again belong to this church; all others do not. Though they may be members of some denominations or other, they are not members of the body of Christ. Only he who has been born again is recorded in the book of life,

"Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15

There are only two classes of people: those who have been born again and those who are not. And all those who have been born again are members of this global-encircling assembly of the children of God. They are called-out ones, called out of this present evil course of time. They gather to the name of the Lord Jesus alone and separated from the world. In their lives the Word of God alone is their guide, and in their meetings He alone has the authority. They love all the children of God from their hearts, but they deeply deplore and judge worldly activities and the spirit of division among believers.

Is there anything more noble than to be born of God, than to have one's citizenship in heaven? For your spiritual development you need to fellowship with others who are born again. The early Christians

"... devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42

It would be well if you too would gather with other believers according to the principles laid down by God in His holy Word. But if you do not find such, then make this matter a special subject for prayer. Make it your constant prayer that you will be preserved from being turned away from the truth through doubts and false teachings of any kind.

“Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I do not deserve eternal life. Food for the new you

Growth is important. Little children give us joy, but if they do not grow they cause us concern, for then perhaps they are seriously ill. For this reason the one who has been born again should also grow steadily and have more and more joy in reading the Word of God, so that he or she can say with the Psalmist:

"I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil." Psalms 119:162

"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." Psalms 119:105

St. John 14:23 Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

But how shall we know His Word if we do not read it? Therefore

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16

Finally, worldly periodicals and literature, movies and amusements arm the new man and have no place in following Jesus. Worldly things are also only a hindrance to the life of faith.

Lack of parent-daughter relationship and communication

Parents should have good relationship with their children so that the children will be free to discuss their issues of concern with them. When a high degree of parent-daughter communication exists, topics discussed often include school work, plans for the future, sex, growing up,, pregnancy and tactful information more likely to prevent pregnancy.

When communication on sexual issues between the parents and the adolescent is open, it creates a healthy environment for the development of the adolescent. When parents spend time with their children (female and male) more especially face to face communication, not only the digital one (in this era of advanced technology and phones), it significantly lessens the incidences of depression, anxiety and other mental illness. Being physically present with loved ones creates a strong emotional support to sustain family members through the demands and grinds of life. Adolescent that spend good time with family, tend to do better in school. They learn communication skills and the importance of education. When needed, assisting with assignments or new concepts reinforces the fact that their success is important to parents and older siblings. Parents can ask questions that can lead their young ones to talk and discuss with them. Through these discussions, parental-daughter bonds and closeness are formed. However, an opposite of this allowance of parental-daughter communication will definitely produce a lapse which can push the adolescent to seek communication outside the home. Largely amongst her peers who may be in need of attention too. Hence, the outcome will be adverse and intrusion into their sex life can happen and ultimately lead to unwanted pregnancy.

Experience the power through prayer

To pray is to speak to God, upon your knees in your room, while standing, or in any position at home or work place. You can do it everywhere and at anytime. If God is your Father, why should you not be able to tell Him everything that affects you? All your cares, all that troubles you, you should take to the Lord in prayer.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually,

1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

St. Luke 18:1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

St. Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

This is particularly important in a time like today, a time so rich in temptations. Therefore pray, pray regularly and in childlike confidence. Take time to pray and you will experience the power of God in your life.

Either Jesus or the World

God in His great holiness and truth is showing you your sinful condition, why is it that you must perish. But He is also a God of love and shows you the Saviour: Jesus. And no where else is salvation to be found.

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

The Lord Jesus says of Himself: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

Peace, joy and happiness are to be found in Him alone for time and for all eternity. Life is in Him alone, abundant life. He says,

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10

Should you thus come to the Lord Jesus in honest repentance for your sins and in childlike faith in His work of reconciliation, what will happen then? Will He receive you? Yes, He will.

"All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away." John 6:37

Through this faith you will be justified and will become a child of God. Faith is taking God at His Word. Is also being obedient. Take God at His Word today.

What could fit together better than a heart that is conscious of being lost, seeking forgiveness and peace and a Saviour who wants to give both? So be serious. Come to Him today

"Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?" Romans 2:4

Please do not despise His offer. Come to the Lord Jesus now!

No one shall say, I didn't know! No one shall ask, why the judgement? May everyone make up his mind: Either Jesus or the World.
