BE GREAT. SERVE.

WANT TO BE GREAT? SERVE OTHERS.
“Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all.” – Mark 10:43b-44

What does it mean to be great? The world most often defines greatness through one’s accomplishments. Think back to ancient history when Alexander the Great conquered the known world by the time he was 33 years old, only to weep because there was nothing left to conquer. Later, Thomas Edison would have over a thousand patents to his name. Or, what about Einstein and his amazing discoveries in quantum physics?

Still others might argue that real greatness is all about power. In Jesus’ time, Caesar Augustus was considered truly great because of all the power he held. In the modern world, you might look at the Oval Office where Presidents of the United States sit as a place of true power and influence. But is power what really defines greatness?

In reality, anyone can become great. Perhaps not according to the world’s definition – or even according to your own definition. Jesus tells us how: “…whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all.” Jesus – the greatest man to ever exist said that He didn’t come to be served; He came to serve. This heart of service eventually led Him to trade His life for our salvation.

The greatest man (Jesus), was also the greatest servant. And that is what He calls us to do. No personal accomplishment, patent or scientific discovery, worldly power, and not even a President – nothing in this earthly world can be considered truly great in the eternal. Follow the footsteps of Jesus. Serve your fellow man. That’s the only lasting road to true greatness.

Be Inspired

When Omotunde "Adaku" Adebowale — a graduate of Law from Lagos State University, left Law School, she wanted a career in the media industry. She approached many media outfits, including Channels TV and even Galaxy TV, but she was rejected.

In fact, Channels TV rejected her because she could not pronounce "Arthur" — the name of the man who interviewed her.

Galaxy TV rejected her because she was "fat" and had "an ugly face" for TV.

Her parents wanted her to be a lawyer and were disappointed with her new choice of career that might fetch just a meagre income for her. But she never gave up on her dreams and started practicing pronunciation of words and names.

She practiced law for three years but on realising her ambition, she enrolled at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Training School in Lagos, performed well, and was immediately given a Contract Employment with Radio Nigeria where she stayed for nearly two years before moving on to WAZOBIA FM.

When asked in an interview by 'Nonye Ben-Nwankwo of “The Citizen” which was published on March 1, 2014, how she got on radio, she said:

"I am not on radio because I couldn’t find another job. It is just passion-based. I enjoy entertaining people.

I wanted to do what I was passionate about and not just about what I read in school. I was once with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria. When I heard about Wazobia, it became a challenge for me. I wasn’t even sure I could do it but I went for the audition.

It was a tough one (the audition) because a lot of people came for it. By the time I was auditioned, it was almost over.

I was invited four months later. That was how I started. It wasn’t easy at first because I had to go through the teething problems.

Some listeners criticised me. But every criticism I got made me stronger.

The more you do something, the better you get at that thing.''

Adebowale hails from Ijebu-Igbo in Ogun State but she's always mistaken for an Igbo lady due to her roles in movies, especially the "Adaku" she portrayed in Funke Akindele's “Jenifa's Diary” which she played perfectly that got many viewers arguing whether she's Yoruba or Igbo.

When she hit stardom, Galaxy TV who had rejected her beforehand because she was "fat and ugly" tried to recruit her but she replied to the management that they couldn't afford her pay.

Omotunde Adebowale is now a Nigerian Multi award-winning Radio and TV Host, Comedienne, Compere, Dramatist, and Actress. She was an On-Air personality and a Newsreader for CoolFM and WazobiaFM (known as Lolo1 of Wazobia) until July 10, 2019, when she left the station.

So, be good at what you do. Be consistent. Be successful and they will chase after you.

GOOD THINKING IS POSSIBLE

GOOD THINKING IS POSSIBLE.

James Allen, in his book As a Man Thinketh says, All that a man achieves or fails to achieve, is the direct result of his thoughts.

Do you believe that? If you do, you will place a high value on good thinking. It will become a priority in your life. Success doesn't come by accident. You don't stumble into it then figure it out afterwards.

Whether you are a business person, doctor, a minister, pharmacist, engineer, a teacher, a parent, or whatever, your level of success will increase dramatically if you place a high value on good thinking. The better your thinking, the better your prospects in life.

Playwright Victor Hugo said, A small man is made up of small thoughts. People who don't develop and practice good thinking usually find themselves at mercy of circumstances or other peoples thoughts. They are unable to solve problems. They find themselves facing the same obstacles over and over. And because they don't think ahead they're habitually in reaction mode.

Old German proverb says, Better an empty purse than head. Good thinkers overcome difficulties, including lack of resources. And generally, poor thinkers are at the mercy of good thinkers.

Capital isn't so important. Experiences isn't either. You can get both these things. Whats important is ideas. If you have ideas you have the main asset you need, and there isn't any limit to what you can do with your life. Solomon writes, “As he thinketh in his heart, so is he (Proverb 23:7). And the good news is its not too late for you to become a good thinker. Start today to think, to unlock your potentials, it is possible.

Embrace Diversity

"Imagine how boring the world would be if we were all the same?" Our lives wouldn't just be bland without variety to spice them up; they'd also be impossible.

God created us as a diverse people and He wants us to unite. That's why he gave us different skills and strengths so that we would recognise our need for one another and appreciate our individuality. And His love for variety is not just visible in us but in all aspects of His creation. Look at the many species in any ecosystem all living in synchrony, or the changing seasons, each allowing for growth and harvest.

In our world, our differences are often used as a means to create distance between us. But God intends His people to come together. He didn't make us different so that we could be subjugated because of our race, ability or experiences.

A hatred for diversity doesn't reflect a love for the one who created it. We should celebrate the differences that we have because of their beauty, usefulness and because they are the work of our Father in heaven

Be Happy, and Stay Healthy

Be Happy, and Stay Healthy
Happy people tend to eat healthier, exercise more, and get better sleep than those who are stressed out or depressed - all habits associated with health. Here are 10 simple steps for a happier, healthier You!

1. Eat more whole foods

Nutrition actually influences the structure and the functioning of our brain cells. We now know that the foods that you eat directly influence communication within the brain. The key to improving your mood with food is to cut back on processed snacks in favour of whole foods. Studies show that a ‘primal’ diet made up of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, as well as meat, fish and eggs, is best for weight control and improvement in risk markers for illnesses, such as heart disease and diabetes. This ‘go primal’ food philosophy will enable you to cut through the marketing hype and dietary misinformation, and allow you to make healthy food choices quickly and confidently. It has been found that people who take diet rich in olive oil, vegetables, fish and whole grains are generally less depressive symptoms than those who eat junk food.

2. Just add water

You’ve heard it before, but it’s worth repeating. It’s important to drink eight to 10 glasses of water every day to keep our bodies functioning properly. Water makes up to two-thirds of the body and performs a plethora of functions, including acting as a solvent, carrier of nutrients, temperature regulator and body detoxifier. Maintaining hydration can have a profound influence on our vitality and energy levels, including mental alertness. Always keep a bottle of water with you. If you see it, you will drink it!

3. Get more sleep

Sleep has the ability to optimise mental and physical energy, and optimal levels of sleep (about eight hours a night) are linked with reduced risk of chronic disease and improved longevity. People with insomnia produce higher rates of stress hormones than others, according to new research. This puts their bodies in a hyper-aroused state that can make it difficult for them to wind down. The inability to sleep causes more stress, which can have a devastating impact. People who don’t get enough sleep can become depressed. Inversely, more and better-quality sleep can make you feel happier.

4. Spend time outdoors

Head for the great outdoors to boost your mood and your self-esteem. Research has shown that if you expose yourself to nature and exercise, there’s a significant influence on mental outlook. Natural settings stimulate the mind. People who are into outdoor activities tend to be significantly less angry, depressed and tensed.

Don’t fret if you’re not near a mountain range or the ocean. Your own backyard, a local park, a nearby botanic garden or a green oasis in the middle of town will do just fine.

5. Walk regularly

Aerobic exercise, including something as uncomplicated and low-impact as walking, is associated with a variety of benefits for the body and the brain, including a reduced risk of chronic diseases, anti-anxiety and mood-enhancing effects. Aim for a total of about 30 minutes of brisk walking every day.

6. Make social contact

There’s a lot of research supporting the idea that social support can have a positive effect on mood. Share time with a buddy to get a mood boost, whether it’s connecting via phone, email, or even better, an in-person get together. Try to find time to cook dinner, make a phone call, have lunch and do whatever possible with someone you cherish.

Seeing your friends on a regular basis can be just as important to your mental health as exercise and nutrition.

7. Work out

Exercise can help reduce anxiety and improve mood. There are physical reasons why working out may help make you happier, such as releasing feel-good brain chemicals; raising your body temperature, which may have a calming effect; and reducing immune-system chemicals, which may contribute to depression symptoms. Exercise also builds your confidence, distracts you from worries and helps you interact with others.

8. A furry friend

Pets are more than just a cute and cuddly source of joy - their companionship is good for your health. People who share space with a pet experience less stress and have lower blood pressure, cholesterol levels and triglyceride levels than those who don’t.

Pets provide more than companionship and a warm welcome home. They lend a willing and helpful ear. Many pet owners confide in a pet because pets don’t judge, condemn or talk back. Studies have found that dog owners are often as emotionally close to their pets as to their closest family members

9. Laughter is the best medicine

A good laugh increases the number and activity of disease-fighting cells, dulls pain, reduces levels of stress-related hormones and prompts the release of feel-good chemicals called endorphins. Laughter prompts physical changes that help the immune and endocrine systems function better. So take yourself a little less seriously, find something that tickles your funny bone, and share this wonderful, free gift of laughter with others.

10. Practice random acts of kindness

Modern-day living tends to be aspirational and we can easily find ourselves chasing an ever-growing list of goals, many of which can be material. Some of us could do with spending more time focusing not on what we don’t have, but on what we do. Random acts of kindness are good for givers and receivers alike. It could be a quick call or text to someone you care about or have lost touch with, or showing a fellow motorist some consideration, or giving up your seat on a train or bus, or buying someone lunch or giving a spontaneous bunch of flowers.

BIBLE PROPHECY & TRUMP

BIBLE PROPHECY & TRUMP
The Abraham Accord Peace Treaty Signals Christ's return

On September 15, 2020, the governments of the United States, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed the historic Abraham Accord Peace Treaty at the White House. More Middle East countries are expected to also sign and join later. The prophetic magnitude of this event cannot be overstated. Many Christians think this peace treaty will be the one the Bible says the Anti-Christ strengthens during the seven-year tribulation.

Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for achieving more peace in the Middle East than anyone in American history. No one expects Trump to receive the prize.

The Bible in 1 Thessalonians 5 says, ”For when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child and they shall not escape.”

President Trump is the first U.S. president to do the right thing in recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moving the American embassy to Jerusalem. Trump took a courageous stand and did what he promised in his campaign to do. It’s the right thing to do and may have been one reason the God of Abraham allowed him to win against all odds. The other reason was the Abraham Accord Peace Treaty. Trump was recognizing reality. Palestinians have never had a capital or country and for the most part come from Jordan. King David made Jerusalem the capital of the Jewish state 3000 years ago. A nation has the right to decide on its own capital. Why should Israel be the exception? The God of Israel is the One who gave them the title deed to the land of Israel. God put His name on Jerusalem forever. It is and always will be the eternal capital of Israel. Woe to those who disagree. The nation of Israel is unique among all nations because it’s based on an everlasting covenant with God almighty.

The rebirth of the nation of Israel is unique among all nations in world history. Israel exists against all odds. The most obvious proof God wrote the Bible is the Jews and the nation of Israel. The Bible predicted their exile from the land and return just prior to the second coming of King Jesus. (Amos 9:14-15; Isaiah 11:11; Ezekiel 20:34) There’s no nation ever that was out of existence for 1900 years and came back. They even have the same capital (Jerusalem) and speak Hebrew which was an extinct language. You may doubt God exists but you can’t doubt Israel exists. The God of Israel is real!

The Bible in Zechariah 12 says that God will destroy all nations that come against Jerusalem. Hundreds of Bible verses say Jerusalem and Israel belongs to the Jews. Even the Muslim Koran claims Israel belongs to the Jews says Professor Nissin Dana. Koran 7:7, says God bequeaths the land of Israel to the Jews. The Bible says God will send judgment on nations that try to divide the land He gave to Israel. Genesis 12:3 says, “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.” Obadiah 12:3 says, “For the day of the Lord is near upon the heathen; as thou hast done (to Israel) it shall return upon your own head.”

Israel and Jerusalem are God’s end times clock. When the disciples asked Jesus what were the signs of His coming again? Jesus told them that the last generation wouldn’t pass away before they saw the things He revealed. As Israel had a rebirth in May 1948, it was the beginning of the end generation. Psalms 90:10 tells us a generation is between 70 and 80 years. That makes Jesus return to rule earth not later than 2028 when Israel is 80 years old. Prophecy is unfolding before our eyes. Our Savior Jesus could return for His bride at any time. One pastor said the rapture is so close he wasn’t looking for signs but was listening for sounds. So we continue to look up and witness to those around us that they may be ready as well. Christians have great hope, but pain for those who will not listen and believe in the best news ever — Jesus. As Titus 2:13 says, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ!”

The Bible tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem which is in effect praying for the return of Jesus. Because only Jesus can bring real peace.

Jesus promised to come and reign for a 1000 years after the seven-year tribulation and you can be sure He will keep His word. Jesus doesn’t need an invitation to come. Whenever Jesus chooses to come, Jesus will!

Benefits of Online Education

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
TAKE A LOOK AT BENEFITS OF ONLINE EDUCATION
An online education is preferred by individuals who may not be able to make it for classes in a traditional brick and mortar kind of college due to various reasons. Below we'll examine some of the benefits this exciting education provides to such students.

Benefits of Online Education

1. Flexibility
Students have the freedom, they are not tied down to a fixed schedule. In a traditional classroom setting, class meeting times are set, and the student has no power over this, forcing them to work their schedules around these dates. Most people who choose online learning tend to have other commitments, and prefer this mode of learning as it gives them power over how they will delegate their time towards their different projects.

2. Reduced Costs
Online education can cost less due to a variety of reasons. For example, commuting and housing costs don't affect the online student.

3. Documentation
All the information that you will need will be safely stored in an online database. This includes things like, live discussion documents, training materials and emails. This means that if there's ever anything that needs to be clarified, the student will be able to access these documents fast, saving valuable time. This is especially useful for individuals that need to carry out research for a project and submit their findings to a panel.

4. Access to Expertise
An online college education might give students access to specialized degree courses that may not be available in an easily accessible or local institution of learning. Online classes allow the sharing of expertise that helps more people have access to education that is not readily available in certain geographic locations.

This type of education has grown over the last few years and has experienced mainstream acceptance. With an online class, you get to control your learning environment, which ultimately helps you develop a deeper understanding of your degree course. New models of learning are always springing up, providing students with varied opportunities to fashion their education into something that fits them. It also provides individuals an opportunity to finish a degree they might have started and were unable to continue with for one reason or another. The future of online degree education looks promising, and opens up education to a larger section of the population than ever before.

Accept Jesus today

Those who accept Christ can possess life "here and now" as well as in eternity, for they have "passed from death to life". "He who hears my word, and believes him that sent me, has eternal life, and comes not into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." John 5:24

We invite you to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life by praying this prayer;

“O Lord God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Your Word says, “…whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21).

I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life.

I receive eternal life into my spirit and according to Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved,” I declare that I am saved; I am born-again; I am a child of God! I now have Christ dwelling in me, and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world! (1 John4:4).

I now walk in the consciousness of my new life in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!”

Congratulations! You are now a child of God.

Do Not Fear

Do Not Fear - This is to remind you that God Is in Control.
We might still feel afraid, but we can believe that God is with us. We may not be in control, but we can trust the One who is. We may not know the future, but we can know the God who does.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ~ Isaiah 41:10

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you."  ~ Psalm 56:3

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:6-7

REVELATION

A RELIGIOUS LEADER HAS BEEN RAISED TO USHER IN THE MARK OF THE BEAST. CHRISTIANS BEWARE!

Dear people of God, in this revelation, I saw a particular man of God highly revered by his followers and other Christians in the body of Christ. He held a burial service for his mother in a very big auditorium that can occupy millions of people without stress, and the auditorium was filled to the brim with Christians from different parts of the word, but during the service some men in suits came in with some gold plated beautifully decorated chips that can be fixed on the eyelids of women and men can wear it as rings on their fingers or as a stud on their belts. They were told that the chips protect them from contacting any kind of illness and disease, that the chips will lighten up whenever they express any form of emotion and that nobody in the congregation will take the holy communion unless they have received the chip. So people started moving forward to collect the chip seeing it as nothing but mere protection against diseases. Some minutes later, a man arose from the congregation to the altar, took the microphone and started preaching about raising an army for Christ. He used Gideon and Jephthah as examples, and greater percentage of the congregants rejected the chips. Out of millions of people in the auditorium only about hundred people received the chips including the man of God that organised the burial service, and his household, and they were the only one that waited for the holy communion.

INTERPRETATION:
Weeping may endure till night but joy comes in the morning. This is the period of trials and persecutions for the believers in Christ, but stand firm. After this period, there will be a revival that will usher in the coming of the Lord, and our tears shall roll away. Be on guard, be at alert, always pray and be watchful, lest even the very elects will be deceived.

Yours in Christ
